The SPONGE - (Wimple Winch) 1969

This is a rarely seen single here, one side Dave Berry, the other Dave Berry and the Sponge, comprising the drummer Lawrence Arends of Wimple Winch and Just Four Men.

Great record. Always liked this one. Had no idea of the Wimple Winch connection and had often wondered who on Earth were The Sponge. Didn't know that the late Tony Clarke had produced it as well. It's a ridiculously hard single to find.

Nice to hear this mono mix of it. Surprisingly there does exist a stereo mix which is superb being clearly an 8 track recording with stereo drums and a great overall sound... but you always got great sounding stuff from Tony Clarke anyway.

Thanks for this gem.
